Fix: Telegram account frozen or limited
Telegram restricts accounts at two levels: a limit (you can only message people who saved your number) and a freeze (the account becomes read-only). Each has a fix — the key is not to miss the appeal deadline.
What «Your account has been frozen» means
Telegram's official message says the account was frozen for a serious violation of its Terms and is now read-only: you can read but not send. It also gives a date: if Telegram doesn't hear from you by then, the account is deactivated and terminated.
How to appeal
- Tap the appeal button in the freeze notice, or open the official bot @SpamBot.
- Choose to submit an appeal and write a short, honest explanation of why you think it's a mistake.
- Submit before the date in the notice and wait for the moderators — the decision is theirs.
⚠️ There is no other official route. Anyone offering to «unfreeze» your account for money or your login code is a scammer.
Limited: I can only message my contacts
When users report your messages as spam, Telegram limits the account so you can only message people who saved your number. Open @SpamBot to see your status and when the limit ends, and ask for a review there if it's a mistake.
How to avoid freezes and limits
- Don't mass-message people who don't know you.
- Don't add people to groups without their permission.
- Don't run automation tools on your personal account.
- Turn on two-step verification so your account can't be stolen and used for spam.
